Bough Beech SC 24th February, 2018 – Winter Training 2
It was a chilly February day at Bough Beech with strong winds and a clear blue sky.
The Oppies and Teras were excitable. They built on their heavy wind knowledge and made positive steps to mastering this on a course.
The other groups, the Toppers/Tera, Lasers/Aero and Double Handers started the morning focused on the first upwind leg and making the correct decisions a windward mark.
After a well-earned lunch, the groups diverged.
The Toppers/Tera focused on speed in heavy winds, avoiding the No Go Zone and depowering the boat.
The Lasers/Aero took to the water with an intense tacking session, this was followed by gutbusters, they will sleep well tonight.
The Double Handers targeted their downwind speed. A true test of spinnaker skill in testing conditions.
There were even some unplanned capsizing and some inversions. A great day of learning for all!
