KSSA Training Chipstead Saturday- CANCELLED
It is regret that we have decided to cancel the Chipstead KSSA event on Saturday and to move the AGM to an online meeting at 4pm via Zoom.
The forecast for Saturday is for winds between 18 and 40 knots and a temperature of no more than 3 degrees. Even if we got any sailing in it would be in very short bursts and probably not much fun.
This would mean most of the day would be spent inside and whilst Chipstead is a lovely clubhouse we are worried about the very high COVID rates.
It does not seem right to risk conditions which could encourage mixing of a large number of people indoors which is ideal for transmission of the virus.
On balance we think it is safest for everyone if we cancel the event and hold the AGM online. We have done very well this year holding events while the pandemic has been continuing and we wouldn’t want to hold a last event which led to the spread of COVID for anyone.
Thank you to Jenny and everyone at Chipstead for all the planning that has been done for the event.
Apologies for any disappointment but I suspect a lot of you probably didn’t want to sail in the freezing cold and snow anyway!
We will refund all entries paid.
I look forward to seeing many of you for the Zoom AGM.
