The KSSA Committee are very sorry to announce that we will need to cancel this Saturday’s training at Wilsonian SC.
We have not taken this decision lightly but need to comply with the Government’s recommendations for non-essential travel and limiting contact with others. Our decision is in line with a number of other youth organisations, including the scouts, and we feel that, in the present circumstances, it is best to take this course of action.
All entry fees paid will be refunded.
Registration opens at 09:00
Briefing is at 10:00 – Rigged AND changed please!
If you’ve not been to Wilsonian SC before please click here for directions. Don’t rely on Sat Nav!
The arrival of spring (sometimes) brings better weather. However the water will still be very cold. Don’t ruin your day, make sure you have got an adequate winter wet-suit or dry-suit. Thermal layers, hats, hotsocks, winter gloves etc are all an absolute must. Click here to read a useful article on the Rooster blog about winter clothing and layering. You don’t have to buy Rooster, other brands are available. You can also often pick up kit in really good condition from others. Ask around the sailing club, kids do have a habit of growing quickly. Also pass your kit on to others to help keep costs down. There are dinghy groups on Facebook where you can often buy cheap kit, and you can sometimes find a bargain on eBay etc.
Please pre-enter and pay to save money and help with event planning.
PLEASE NOTE: if this is your first KSSA event of 2020 you will need to join KSSA or renew your membership for the year. This costs just £10 for a family (Parents/Guardians, plus any number of sailors aged 18 or under on 31st August in the current year). It enables you to enter KSSA training and racing events this year. To join or renew, please go to our MEMBERSHIP page and follow the instructions. You can pay online with your event entry or pay cash at your first event. Please note: In the event of cancellation pre-entry will be refunded. (Please refer to our refund policy).
For more information about the venue, please see the Wilsonian Sailing Club web site.
