Premier racing event of the KSSA calendar at Downs Sailing Club. This is a friendly competition open to all our youth sailors. Coaching will be provided for the back-markers.

ROOKIES: Please come and join in, even if its your first year of racing. You will have your own start/courses. Coaches will be on the water to help you.

ARRIVAL: This can be done from 08:00hrs on the green outside the club. Smaller boats, i.e. Toppers can be kept on their launching trollies and there will be matting down to the shoreline to help with access across the beach. Larger boats can be transferred to sledges which will be made available on the day. There are winches at the top of the beach to pull boats back up.

PARKING: Participants can either park on the green outside the club or there is free parking on the road.

REGISTRATION: From 08:30 in the club/boat park/rigging area.

BRIEFING: There will be a briefing (rigged and changed) at 09:45. First warning signal not before 10:25

COACHES & HELPERS: The staffing of the event will be by the adults of KSSA & DSC with coaches afloat in some RIBs to assist the less confident sailors. Parents will be especially welcome on the shoreline to help their children with launch and recovery

CATERING: A fabulous spread will be available throughout the day.

• Breakfast from 0830 (Bacon rolls, Waffles with fresh fruit and Greek yogurt, Mini croissants / mini pain au chocolat)
• Lunch (Pasta bake, garlic bread and salad, Jacket potatoes with various fillings, Hot dogs, Cheese toasties / filled rolls)
• Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available throughout the day as well as fruit, crisps, choc bars and a variety of cakes.

KSSA MEMBERSHIP: All sailors need to be a member of KSSA. if this is your first KSSA event of 2022 you will need to join or renew your membership for the year. This costs just £10 for a family (Parents/Guardians, plus any number of sailors aged 18 or under on 31st August in the current year).
