2024 Summer Training, Regatta and Camp
Our summer fun training, camp and regatta weekend is back and will be held again this year at Medway Yacht Club. Open to ALL KSSA sailors but also essential preparation for anyone that will be competing as part of the Kent Team at the NSSA Regatta at Basenthwaite SC later in July. Please come along even if you’re not going to Basenthwaite. Enter both days, or just one.

This is a friendly competition open to all our youth sailors. Coaching will be provided for the back-markers.
REGISTRATION: from 08:30 Saturday (and Sunday if you weren’t there Saturday).
BRIEFING: There will be sailor briefings at 10:00 on both days. Please be changed and have boats rigged ready to go.
DRINKS BOTTLES: please bring your own refillable drinks bottle, rather than buying plastic bottled drinks!
CATERING: There are a variety of meal options available for the weekend including meal packages for those camping for the full weekend. You are of course welcome to bring your own food, picnic etc. Medway Yacht Club has an excellent professionally run galley which will be open providing lunches, snacks and other refreshments. The meal package must be pre-booked for the galley to know anticipated numbers. This is available for adults and sailors. These can be booked as part of a boat entry or on their own. To include:

For those not requiring the full meal package, the Saturday night barbeque can also be taken on an individual basis. Please also book these online on the event entry page.
CAMPING: The field next to the club will be available for the erection of tents from 10am on Saturday. Our thanks to our hosts Medway Yacht club who are making no charge for on-site camping or motor caravans. Please be advised of the following guidelines for everyone’s enjoyment and safety:
• Rabbit burrows are everywhere, so football on the grass is not advisable!
• No swimming or paddling in the river (other than when sailing).
• No smoking, open fires, alcohol in the campsite.
• Toilet facilities are available at the clubhouse overnight.
ENTRY: You must enter and pay for this event online in advance using the WebCollect link below. In order to take part, you must have a paid KSSA Membership for 2024 (see below). Entry closes at midnight Wednesday 3 July or when the event is full. There are maximum 40 spaces available for the training on Saturday and 60 for the regatta on Sunday. This is to ensure that we can deliver effective training and maintain safety coverage at all times. This is a popular event, we strongly recommend you book early to avoid disappointment. If all places are booked, we will maintain a waiting list. Please contact us if you’d like to be added.
In the event of cancellation entry fees will be refunded. If you’re not able to attend, please let us know by 10AM the day before the event (please refer to our refund policy).
KSSA MEMBERSHIP: All sailors need to be a member of KSSA. if this is your first KSSA event of 2024 you will need to join or renew your membership for the year. This costs just £10 for a family (Parents/Guardians, plus any number of sailors aged 18 or under on 31st August in the current year).
