AUTUMN TRAINING 1
KSSA are delighted to announce that we will be back on the water and training this Autumn. ‘Expression of interest’ in joining Autumn Training 1 is now open. This will take place at Broadstairs Sailing Club on Saturday 17th October.
Please respond by Monday 28th September if your sailor(s) would like to attend.
PLEASE NOTE: This WILL NOT confirm a place on the training session and is only indicating that you are interested and available. Please include the following information in your email: sailor name, age, boat type, club.
The Team Managers and coaches will review those who have applied and send an invite to individual sailors to attend the event. Selection will be based on the following:
* Numbers of training places available at each venue
* Fleet focus for the event
* Suitability of the sailing area for novice/intermediate/advanced sailors
A proportion of ‘priority places’ will be given to host club sailors who are also KSSA members. Registration and entry payment will need to be completed online so that there is no paperwork on the day. If an invited sailor is unable to attend their place will be offered to another available candidate recommended by the coaches and Team Managers.
We are looking forward to seeing as many of our sailors as possible and Team Managers will do their best to ensure that our regular sailors are given an opportunity to train with us over the Autumn and Winter. We are also happy for sailors who have not sailed with the KSSA before to register their interest.
Training and operation instructions for the day will be sent to those sailors attending an event as they will differ for each venue.
We are very aware that this necessary change in our operating procedure may cause disappointment to sailors and we will return to our usual ‘open registration’ procedure as soon as it is safe to do so within Gov. guidelines for sports activities and RYA recommendations.
Of course everything may change if there are changes to restrictions or new lockdown measures are introduced. We can only plan these events based on current Government and RYA guidance. In the event that we are not able to go ahead, all entry fees paid will be fully refunded.
